Fitting Your Horse's Blanket

The fit of your blanket is extremely important to the comfort of your horse.  An improperly fitted blanket can cause rubbing and slippage.  To find out what size Horseware blanket your horse needs, measure the distance from the center of the chest to the center of the tail.  Horseware blankets are sized in three-inch increments, so you will need to choose the closest size available.  If you measure between sizes, we recommend that you round up.

Care Of Your Horse's Blanket & Neck Cover

To keep your blanket and/or neck hood (if applicable) as comfortable as possible for your horse and to maximize the blanket's and/or hood's life, we recommend that you clean your blanket and/or hood annually. First, remove excess dirt from the outside of the blanket and/or hood with a brush and hose.  The blanket and/or hood can then be washed either by hand, or on a delicate cycle with cool water in a commercial washer.  Use only very mild soap.  Horseware® recommends Rambo® Rug Wash, an environmentally friendly product for use on synthetic fabrics.  Rambo® Rug Wash will effectively remove dirt without damaging the waterproof coating.  When the blanket and/or hood have been washed, allow to drip dry and ensure that the blanket and/or hood are thoroughly dry before storage.  Do not put your horse's blanket and/or hood in the dryer or wash with hot water.  Do not store your horse's blanket and/or hood if damp or wet.  This will damage the waterproof coating and void any warranties.  In the unlikely event that your horse blanket and/or hood should become nicked or damaged due to horse abuse Horseware® recommends Rambo® Stormsure or the Rambo® Blanket Repair Kit to contain and waterproof the nicks that your blanket and/or hood may incur through the years.
