Get Bamboozled --
Contribute To The Earth's Future While Riding!

Well, you’ve probably heard it all now…  bamboo for your back!

Bamboo – yes, those willowy, green-trunked stands of “trees” – is now proving itself to be an outstanding source of clothing fabric.  Actually, bamboo is a type of grass, and its multi-purpose usefulness is well-known in many industries in all corners of the world:  besides the potential for putting a shirt on your back, it also provides protection from the elements, when as a more mature plant it can be harvested for buildings and for furniture construction.  And, it also can be consumed as food when it is in the shoot stage of growth (remember the famed Washington Zoo pandas, Ling-Ling and Hsing-Hsing? Their favored meal, every day, was bamboo shoots).

Not that we recommend eating your bamboo clothing at any point in time!  But, bamboo is adding another point to its resume:  It is rapidly becoming a sports fabric of choice.  Why?  Bamboo, when woven into fabric, is proving itself to be wrinkle-resistant, so it’s a real favorite for travel and with those who just don’t have room in their lives for a high-maintenance wardrobe.  It has tremendous wicking ability, better than many fabrics on the market today, making it the exceptional choice for sports and exercise gear.  And bamboo clothing feels great against your skin, soft and with a light stretch.  It is durable and holds color well, coming out of the wash again and again as if it’s just come brand-new out of the package.

If those qualities aren’t impressive enough, bamboo works double-time out in the environment.   It consumes nearly 50% more carbon dioxide and releases 35% more oxygen than a similarly sized grove of trees (a bamboo grove may appear to be made up of several individual tree-like growths, but it is, in fact, a single plant with multiple offshoots).  Bamboo can often grow just as well in cold climates as the tropics.   Bamboo can also grow more than a foot a day, so it is a highly renewable and sustainable source of raw clothing material, and it requires nearly no fertilizer or pesticides to remain healthy.

Where to find such state-of-the-art clothing?  Right here at TheEquestriancorner.com.  An exciting, new line of bamboo-derived riding clothes has hit the stage, and they are as stylish as they are functional.  Informal and formal riding shirts, full-seat and regular breeches, and sports gear are available in all sizes.  And the prices are just as exceptional as the merchandise.  So, stop in and add another way to be as sustainable and as green as Mother Earth needs us to be – and remember, when your bamboo-based clothing  from TheEquestriancorner.com wears out (in the far distance future, of course), bamboo clothing is totally biodegradable – just toss it on the compost heap and walk away knowing you’ve just worn probably some of the most comfortable clothing possible AND contributed to the Earth’s future!
